Install with AME Wizard

AME Wizard remains an alternative way to install Atlas. It applies the same Atlas 0.6 playbook through its own interface. Atlas Manager is the recommended route because it guides Windows and Store update preparation as part of setup.

AME Wizard may be labelled AME Beta in its downloads and interface.

1. Prepare Windows

Meet the same installation requirements: start with fresh Windows 11 25H2 (build 26200), or an eligible Atlas upgrade.

Before opening the playbook:

  1. Connect to the internet and plug in your PC.
  2. Open Settings → Windows Update and install the recommended updates for the supported Windows release.
  3. Restart if requested, then check again for remaining updates.
  4. Open Microsoft Store, check for updates, and let Microsoft Store and all installed Store apps finish updating.
  5. Recheck after any restart. Resolve failed updates before continuing.

You do not need optional preview updates or a newer Windows feature release. A different installer does not bypass Atlas’s Windows compatibility or preparation requirements.

2. Download the two files

  • Download the Atlas 0.6 playbook from the Atlas release page. If it comes in a release ZIP, extract that ZIP to find the .apbx file.
  • Download AME Wizard / AME Beta from Ameliorated and extract its download if needed.

Keep the .apbx file intact. AME Wizard opens the package for you.

3. Apply the playbook

  1. Open AME Wizard and allow administrator access. Install any available Wizard update before applying Atlas.
  2. Drag the Atlas .apbx file into the window, or use its playbook selection control.
  3. Confirm the Atlas version and follow the requirement checks.
  4. Review the Atlas options and follow Wizard’s Windows Security instructions when prompted.
  5. Start installation, keep the PC powered on, and let it finish. Restart when instructed.

Already using Atlas?

Check Before upgrading first. Use the upgrade action offered for your installed version. Reapplying a package is not a substitute for an eligible upgrade path.

After installation

Follow First setup. You can use Atlas Manager to view your installed version even if you installed through AME Wizard.

If Wizard fails, keep its logs and use the AME Wizard FAQ. Do not run Manager and Wizard installations at the same time.
