Report issues
On this page
Record what happened before retrying, clearing app data, or reinstalling Windows. Include the installation method: Atlas Manager, Manager-created media, or AME Wizard.
Export Atlas diagnostics
In Atlas Manager, choose Export diagnostics in Settings or on the installation, ISO, or USB page. Use Show diagnostic ZIP to locate the archive.
If the app cannot open, run this from its folder:
.\AtlasManager.exe --export-diagnostics
The default export location is %LOCALAPPDATA%\AtlasOS\App\Diagnostics. Export as the affected Windows account; another user’s profile is not collected automatically.
The archive includes app and playbook logs, preparation and media diagnostics, saved session details, and an installation report where available. Missing evidence is listed in its manifest. Original local logs are unchanged.
Nothing is uploaded automatically. Exports redact common personal identifiers and credentials, but can retain hardware details, app names, error text, and parts of paths. Review the archive before sharing it.
AME Wizard logs
For a Wizard installation, also collect the relevant Output.txt and Log.yml under C:\ProgramData\AME\Logs. These raw logs may contain personal information; review them before posting.
If Manager is available, export diagnostics too. Wizard’s own log and Atlas’s installation evidence can explain different parts of the failure.
What to include
- Atlas version, Manager or Wizard version, and Windows version/build.
- The exact release or candidate you tested; include artifact hashes if supplied.
- What you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- The error message, approximate time and time zone, and whether the problem repeats.
- Steps to reproduce, including relevant setup choices, driver mode, and other Windows accounts.
- The diagnostic ZIP and relevant screenshots or Wizard logs.
For a suspected Atlas regression, check whether the same issue occurs on unmodified Windows in the same environment. Do not discard the failed installation’s evidence to do this.
Where to report
Open an Atlas GitHub issue and complete the issue template. For release candidates, use the reporting channel named in the candidate’s release notes.
